I’m fairly certain I think about recreating this scene, or better yet, the angry Billy Elliot scene every day.
As of recent, I’ve been absolutely captivated by Atlanta soul singer Baby Rose. Her voice echoes power and control but carries with it a sense of vulnerability. There’s a very special moment in the COLORS video below, right after 1:15, where Rose transitions from simply singing the song to living through the song.
What I’ve come to find so impressive about Rose’s music is that while video provides an additional lens to reveal the emotion of her songs, the exploration of vulnerability on her album is only amplified by the lack of visuals.
