In 2013, Parley D’amour pulled together a collection of diverse and complementing artists to produce what I still consider one of the most refreshing contemporary music projects. As D’amour described it, “‘The Unexpected’ is a project filled with love, jazz, soul and wonderful voices. A piece that challenges you as a listener to engage and reflect upon chapters in your life.” That’s what I enjoy most about this album—how it greets you and welcomes you in.
